Elmer is the moniker of Eddie Mead, who formerly released music as (EM). He has been an independent artist for nearly twenty years.

Elmer's tunes are a strange hybrid of garage punk/shoegaze-sludgepop with hints of folk and psychedelia.

His new album 'nothing' is his first LP in over five years. The last was 'turbine regalia' in early 2021, which capped off a prolific run of releases: five full-length records in a span of less than two years (2019-2021).

Elmer's most celebrated work of the three LPs put out in 2020, 'dumbo', has had two physical re-releases, first on CD and then vinyl, by UK's Shore Drive Records. His music has been written about and found airplay on several continents.

Personal struggles have prevented more than small, sporadic output in recent years, until now. In late 2025 he began the creative process that led to the new collection of tunes titled 'nothing'.

The melodic yet idiosyncratic songs are undeniably catchy despite their musical dissonance. That contradiction, a battle of disharmony with pleasant melody, also exists between the dark lyrics and the music they accompany.

Having recently relocated, Elmer hopes to put together a band to perform with. His former bands include Mercer, Backer, Wisher, and NITE DINO.

Now that 'nothing' is set to be shared with the world, he is ready to refocus his creative energy on various new projects in multiple mediums. Be prepared for much more music and other works from his artistic endeavors. In the meantime, his current solo discography contains twenty releases worth hearing.
